Why can't I see my tiles?
Modified By david on 9/8/2008 7:37:00 AM)

I'm finding that there are typically two reasons why you might not be able to see your tiles.

Reason 1:
It may not be your turn. The way that I designed the game is that when it's not your turn, the tile tray is empty. I've had a some feedback about this and am considering making your tiles visible, but just that you can't actually make a play when it's not your turn. So, if you can see the tile tray area and it is empty, then it's probably because it's not your turn.

Reason 2:
Your screen resolution is set too low. The minimum resolution for this game is 1024 x 768. I needed lots of room to get the whole board displayed, so if you are running on 600 x 800 or less then you won't see the whole board. The tile tray area is at the bottom of the game board. I apologize if your maximum screen size is 600 x 800. I just can't make the board any smaller.

Reason 3:
Windows Vista has a new feature called DPI Scaling. The recommended setting for DPI scaling at this time is 96 DPI. I'll post instructions below on how to check/change this feature.

Cheers.

Re: Why can't I see my tiles?

If you are using Window Vista and the screen resolution is set to at least 1024x768 and you still cannot see your tile rack then you may need to change the Vista DPI Scaling setting.

1. Click on the Vista "Start" button which is typically in the bottom left side of your computer screen and is indicated by the Microsoft Windows logo.
2. Click on the "Control Panel" link to open the control panel.
3. Click on "Personalization" to open the Personalization window.
4. Click on the "Adjust font Size (DPI)" link in the left pane of the Personalization window.
5. Select "Default scale (96 DPI) - fit more information" as the DPI Scaling option and press the "OK" button.

You may need to restart your computer. Then try opening the game again to see if the size is corrected.
